Marc Antonio Archuleta, of Arboles, was born Sept. 8, 1966, in Grand Junction, Colo. He passed away peacefully June 8, 2009, at Denver Health Medical Center. He was 42 years old.
He graduated from Las Animas High School in 1984. While in high school, he was very active in Future Business Leaders of America and the debate team. He received many honors at state and national levels.
In his junior year, he appeared in the National Registry of “Who’s Who” in American High Schools.
He attended the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley, where he majored in business administration.
After being employed by a law firm in Denver, he started waiting tables and discovered this to be his true calling. He worked at many prestigious restaurants in Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans and Durango.
He is survived by his mother, Claudina Quintana, of Arboles; brothers, Michael, of Arboles, Manuel, of Durango, and Matthew, of Aspen Springs; one niece, Amanda, of Aurora; nephew, Matthew Jr., of Pagosa Springs; great-nephew, Romeo, of Aurora; and his beloved Aunt Carol Pacheco.
Cremation has occurred.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall in Pagosa Springs.
