Cruising with The Nuns, in ‘Meshuggah-Nuns’

Pagosa Springs Music Boosters is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and our faithful Pagosa nuns have been rehearsing in preparation for our summer production of Dan Goggin’s “Meshuggah-Nuns!,” opening next week.

Our small and mighty cast includes Mary McKeehan, Lisa Hartley, Kathleen Isberg, Crissy Ferguson, Mark DeVoti, Becca Stephens and Hannah Hemenger, supported by a combo band led by Sue Anderson.

Director and choreographer Dale Morris has only one complaint — it is difficult to get work done because of the amount of side-splitting laughter that accompanies each rehearsal.

“Meshuggah-Nuns!” finds the sisters on an all-expense paid trip on the “Faiths of All Nations” Cruise. When most of the cast of the cruise musical “Fiddler On The Roof,”  gets seasick, the ship’s captain asks the sisters to put on a show, which results in an ecumenical fun-fest!

Shows are June 26, 27 and 28, and July 1, 2 and 3, evenings at 7 p.m., with a matinee only on June 28 at 2 p.m.  All performances are at the Pagosa Springs High School theater.  Tickets on sale now at the Chamber of Commerce, or online at www.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets will also be available performance evenings or afternoon at the door.  See pagosamusicboosters.org.

Every ticket sold supports performing arts in the schools and community, and our five students currently enrolled in college programs.  Come on out for a hilarious evening of fun and laughter.

Those wacky nuns are off on a cruise, and about to star in their own version of a famed Broadway musical, in the Music Boosters’ upcoming production of “Meshuggah-Nuns.” Cast members, from left, are Kathleen Isberg, Crissy Ferguson, Mary McKeehan and Lisa Hartley. The show opens June 26.
