Acoustic Trail presents the HillBenders June 16

Those of us fortunate enough to experience the wonderful musical and artistic celebration that transpired on May 29 at The Wild Spirit Gallery and was sponsored by Acoustic Trail, Inc. can attest to the quality of talent and energy that we are blessed with here in our mountain paradise.

Pete Kartsounes’ amazing song writing, vocals, and guitar playing, all the while being masterfully backed by our own talented saxophonist Bob Hemenger, provided a truly memorable musical experience for all.  The beautiful setting supplied by The Wild Spirit Gallery’s collection of incredible artwork, the yummy food and drink prepared by Chef Michelle Worley and provided by our generous local sponsors, and the kind of energy that a Pagosa crowd can generate combined to create a magical event.  In keeping with the non-profit’s mission to be as environmentally sound as possible, Caroline Colie, the event organizer, chose to use no disposable cups plates or cutlery at the event.  Colie brought plates, silverware and glass wine goblets that she washed herself after the event.

Since the Pete Kartsounes show,  Acoustic Trail has promoted a concert with Robin Davis at the Pagosa Bakery.

Our next concert will be the HillBenders at Libby’s, 456 Pagosa St. downtown, 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 16.

Our first show in July will be at the Wild Spirit Gallery on July 3, with Lisa Otey and Diane Van Deurzen, a dynamic duo play blues, boogie woogie, and all that jazz.  This should be a great show so watch watch for more info coming soon.

Of course, events like this cannot happen without the help and support of our community.  In order to bring the kind of talent to Pagosa Springs that we were fortunate to experience last Friday night, it takes a commitment of time and money from many people.  Acoustic Trail, Inc., a member of The Pagosa Springs Arts Council, needs your help to continue to provide this kind of high quality entertainment to our community.

As individuals we need your support by checking out our Web site at www.acoustictrail.com to see our schedule of upcoming events.  We have some great music coming to town this summer.  By attending our concerts, you help us encourage talented professional musicians to perform as they pass through our small town.    Please Join Acoustic Trail, Inc.   To be a self sustaining non-profit organization, we need a steady stream of support and income that can only be provided by your membership.  And of course, we need volunteers to help in all aspects of planning and production.  Working together we can create the kind of music and arts scene we have dreamed of for Pagosa Springs.

We need businesses and organizations to continue to sponsor our events like we saw for the Pete Kartsounes concert.  We are looking for venues to showcase our performers, donations of food and beverages to serve at our shows, and of course money to supply all the many other aspects of putting on the type of quality entertainment experiences we plan to provide for our community.  You can contact us through the Acoustic Trail Web site listed above.

Over the years many of us have envisioned a Pagosa Springs alive with music and the arts, a community willing to be known as one that supports music, theater, and the visual arts.  A community where visitors and locals alike can experience, on a regular basis, the best quality cultural activities available right here in our own Pagosa Springs.

Working together we can and will make magic!
