Pagosa Gymnasts sport three first-place finishes

Pagosa gymnasts participated in their third competition of the season at the Kidzplex facility in Glenwood Springs.

The girls were the champions in each of the three team competitions.

The Optional group consisted of Hannah Rohrich, Zoe Rohrich, Sierra Trout, Gabrielle Pajak and Toni Stoll.

For Optional 6, Rohrich captured the silver in the all-around. She was the uneven bars champion, placed second in the floor exercise and was third on balance beam.

Trout bettered her all-around score from the last meet by three points, placing third and qualifying her for the state championships. She placed second on beam and third on both bars and floor.

Rohrich placed fourth in the all-around, second on the bars and third on vault.

The Optional 6 team of only three gymnasts stood up well against the Western Slope teams, winning the team competition.

Stoll had an outstanding competition, winning the all-around and accomplishing a personal best score of 37.50. She was vault, bars and beam champion and received bronze on the floor exercise in the Optional 7 group.

Pajak took silver in the all-around, placed second on vault, bars and beam, and took fourth on floor.

The Level 5 group consisted of Molly Burkesmith, Isabelle Pajak, Miah Pitcher and Abby Walkup.

Only all-around medals were awarded, with Pitcher receiving the silver, Burkesmith receiving the bronze, Pajak placing fourth and Walkup placing fifth.

The gymnasts will travel to Castle Rock June 13 to compete in the state championship meet.
