It takes a community, and dedicated people within that community, to ensure the good health, good education, and good upbringing of the children within its borders.
The citizens of Pagosa Springs are fortunate to have an established, well-developed community resource to help parents with that early developmental period so crucial to the long-term well being of their children.
In graduation ceremonies May 15, the Pagosa Springs Head Start/Early Childhood Center proudly presented 26 classroom stars as the Center’s Graduating Class of 2009. These children will enter kindergarten this fall very fortunate to have received the care, attention, and essential early childhood training of the dedicated staff of the Center.
The Center enrolls 3- and 4 year-old children who are income eligible for Head Start (a federally-funded program for low-income families), Colorado Preschool, and/or Child Care assistance through the Archuleta County Department of Human Services. Children may attend full day/full year, school day/school year, or part day/part year. Children of working families are able to attend year round so families are able to maintain employment.
Applications for enrollment of children who will be 3 or 4 years old before Sept. 15, 2009, are now being accepted for both summer and fall enrollment. For more information or to make an appointment, call 264-2484.
No children to enroll but you’re interested in being involved?
