Tickets are now available for the first show of The Spring Theatre Company’s second annual Summer Starlight Series BBQ Suppers and Shows. Playing in June is the family friendly comedy “The Plot Thickens...or...It’s All In The Script.” This delightful romp takes the stage Fridays and Saturdays, June 12, 13, 19 and 20 in the Pavilion Tent located at Harman Park.
“The Plot Thickens” is the first of three STC productions being offered this summer. Written by Rick Artis, this clever melodrama within a melodrama is set in present day and follows a troupe of actors portrayed by Brittany Connor, Maggie Greenwood, Rick Artis, Adam Logan and Nicole Dominguez, as they rehearse and eventually perform a play set during the turn of the last century. Aided by theirr stage manager Randi played by Lizz Baldwin and their director Roscoe played by Michael DeWinter, can the actors overcome the rigors of rehearsal and let the show go on? Directed by Betty Schwicker, this show promises lots of laughter and a few surprises.
Doors will open for each performance at 6:30 p.m. with preshow entertainment until 7 when the buffet is served. Guests will dine on a supper of barbecue brisket or barbecue chicken (a vegetarian option is available by request), fresh cole slaw, cowboy baked beans, rolls and butter, hot fruit cobbler, lemonade and coffee. A well stocked Zuber Fizz soda bar will also be available for those in need of a little carbonation.
Admission is $28 for adults, $20 for children 12 and under and includes the supper and the show. Advance seating tickets for all three shows are on sale now at The Plaid Pony (731-5262) or online at www.SpringsTheatreCompany.org.
