On the weekend of May 15-17, numerous antique cars will arrive in Pagosa to celebrate the inaugural San Juan River Rod Run Car Show.
The cars, 4x4s and trucks will be pre-1976. There will also be motorcycles entered into the show.
Participants will arrive on Friday and register at a site on the west side of town. Then, on Saturday, May 16, the show cars will be downtown and will line Lewis Street , which will be closed off for the event.
The show begins at 9 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m. with an awards ceremony taking place around 3:30 p.m. The motorcycles will be staged in and around the Bear Creek and Adobe Building parking lots.
Come out and enjoy the collectable cars, the music and delicious food from providers on Lewis Street, or in the downtown area. The Bear Creek, the Purple Sage and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church will serve up breakfast and lunch specials. Pagosa Brewing has brewed a special beer for the occasion, a Classic American Pilsner that will also be available.
Car Show attendees will be able enjoy our community as well with the coupon books that businesses have contributed to. There will also be several routes that will be used for an evening “car cruise around town,” so there will even be more opportunity to view these classics.
If you would like your business to be in the coupon book, would like to sponsor a car space, or would like to volunteer in some capacity, contact Autumn at the Chamber of Commerce at 264-2360. This is fun, free entertainment for the whole family and the start of a yearly event in Pagosa Springs.
