BoCC to host ‘Roads to Recovery’

The Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners will host “Roads to Recovery” at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at the County Extension Building.

This three-part presentation and public forum will include:

• Part I — Four-year Road Capital Improvement Plan. The BoCC will present the proposed blueprint for rebuilding county roads and infrastructure. This program will outline a Phase I, Phase II and Phase III plan that will begin in the summer of 2009.

• Part II — Recovery. This will focus on the local economy. According to a study by Region 9 Economic Development, 75 percent of new jobs are created by existing businesses. The BoCC and county staff will present strategies designed to boost the local economy.

• Part III — Open forum. The floor will be open to those in attendance to provide ideas, suggestions and input as to what can be done to help stimulate local business.
