Guests will be delighted to see the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse transformed into a ’50s style diner as The Springs Theatre Company presents the second show of their 2009 Season with a delightful trip to a bygone era with ’50s Fantasy Sock Hop!. Bell’s Diner Drive-In will be serving traditional fare such as hamburgers, hot dogs and fresh french fries along with floats and sodas! On the “bandstand” a rockin’ DJ will be spinning the biggest hits of the decade on the Wurlitzer jukebox as the crowd dances the twist, the mashed potato, the jitterbug and more! Also featured will be live musicians and talented singers playing some of your favorites from the ‘50’s “hit parade”. Join in the fun during the hula-hoop contest, the bubblegum blowing contest, the costume contest and the limbo contest and win fun and fabulous prizes!
This family-friendly 1950s fantasy for all ages will take place Saturday, May 2 for one night only. Escape to 1958, a simpler time when the record player scratched out such tunes as “Blue Velvet” and “Rockin’ Around the Clock” and a pink Cadillac was on everyone’s wish list.
The ’50s Fantasy Sock Hop! will begin at 6:30 p.m. Period costumes are encouraged. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and includes dinner, dessert, beverages, favors, and great music. Tickets are on sale now at The Plaid Pony (731-5262) or online at www.SpringsTheatreCompany.org.
