Registration for this year’s tee-ball season has closed and the five dozen 5- and 6-year-olds who have been registered will now be sorted into teams.
Whenever feasible, the recreation department will do its best to ensure parents’ requests to have their youngsters placed with a particular coach and/or player are honored; however parents are reminded that not all requests can be guaranteed.
On a related note, there will be a voluntary, tee-ball orientation night Wednesday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the elementary school fields; parents and coaches will be reminded by recreation department staff prior to the orientation.
As soon as teams are finalized, coaches will be contacted with roster information. Games are tentatively scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays and will be played outside, weather permitting.
Teams may begin to practice by the end of next week, and games will not begin until April 22. The season will end in late May.

Adult basketball schedules are available at the recreation office and on the recreation department page at www.townofpagosasprings.com. The season will run through late April.
Rosters may carry as many as 15 players; players are eligible to participate if they were 16 years of age or older as of March 1. Players may be added to the roster at any time throughout the season, but participants who have not paid the $30 player fee before the start of their second game will not be permitted to play.

In recent weeks, the parks crew has repeatedly encountered an abundance of household refuse in trash receptacles while making its daily trash runs through the town parks.
Trash receptacles are placed around the parks for the convenience of parks users, and having citizens use them for personal disposal puts an unforeseen and untenable strain on the resources of the parks department.
In addition, violators will face prosecution, including the possibility of jail time and fines. Residents are reminded to refrain from leaving household rubbish in receptacles placed on town property; thanks for your cooperation.
The recreation department is accepting donations for this year’s Fourth of July fireworks show.
Donations in any amount will be accepted; checks and money orders should be made payable to Town of Pagosa Springs.
Donations should be addressed “Attention: Fireworks” and mailed to P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. If you would like to make a cash donation, please do so in person at the front desk in Town Hall.
