Deadline for tee-ball registration extended

The registration deadline for this year’s tee-ball league has been extended until 5 p.m. Monday, April 6; any child who is 5 or 6 years old is eligible to participate.

All registrations should be submitted to the recreation office in Town Hall. Registrations are available at the recreation office in Town Hall and have been dispersed to local schools. Registrations are also available for download in Adobe format through the recreation department link at

Cost is $30 per player and $15 for each additional child in the same, immediate family who participates. The season is tentatively scheduled to begin April 20.

Coaches and sponsorships for this year’s tee-ball teams are also needed and appreciated. Cost for sponsorship is $150, which includes sponsor’s name on team uniforms, commemorative plaque with team picture, and designation on season banners and in media articles.

For more information, call the recreation office 264-4151, Ext. 231 or 232.

Adult basketball

Adult basketball schedules are available at the recreation office and on the recreation department page at The season will run through late April.

Rosters may carry as many as 15 players; players are eligible to participate if they were 16 years of age or older as of March 1. Players may be added to the roster at any time throughout the season, but participants who have not paid the $30 player fee before the start of their second game will not be permitted to play.

Call the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 231 for more information.

Trash receptacles

In recent weeks, the parks crew has repeatedly encountered an abundance of household refuse in trash receptacles while making its daily trash runs through the town parks.

Trash receptacles are placed around the parks for the convenience of parks users, and having citizens use them for personal disposal puts an unforeseen and untenable strain on the resources of the parks department.

In addition, violators will face prosecution, including the possibility of jail time and fines. Residents are reminded to refrain from leaving household rubbish in receptacles placed on town property; thanks for your cooperation.

Indoor soccer

Due to scheduling conflicts, indoor soccer at the community center has been canceled; play is tentatively scheduled to resume outdoors this month, weather and field conditions permitting.

For more information on this program, contact Matt Bowdridge at 903-8663, or call the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 232.

Fireworks donations

The recreation department is accepting donations for this year’s Fourth of July fireworks show.

Donations in any amount will be accepted; checks and money orders should be made payable to Town of Pagosa Springs.

Donations should be addressed “Attention: Fireworks” and mailed to P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. If you would like to make a cash donation, please do so in person at the front desk in Town Hall.
