This year’s women’s only auction, themed “Bedazzle & Bling,” was another amazing success. All proceeds benefited the Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program to further our vision of ending domestic violence and sexual assault in our community. It is truly humbling to see so many amazing women come together for a cause, many of whom are survivors of such violence. This night honored you and the many others who are affected by such personal atrocity.
A thousand thank you’s to those who made this event happen. First, our devoted event leader, Joanne Irons; hilariously funny auctioneer Mary McKeehan and lovely assistant Dee McPeek; the wonderful crew at Nello’s Bistro; and all our dedicated volunteers and teen mentors. And, of course, the incredible generosity of our donors: Sharee Grazda, The Outfitter, Cathe Hill of Allstate Insurance, Wendy Saunders, Next Door Décor, Springs Theatre, Creations by Maryann, Mountain Eye Care, Home Again, Lisa Scott, Springs Resort and Spa, Pagosa Dental, Denny Rose, Golino Designs Handcrafted Jewelry, Cindi Galabota, Erlinda Gonzalez, Jan Nanus, Pagosa Energy Massage, Rosemary Wright, Farrago’s Market Café, Dr. Drew Feinhals, Purple Sage Café, The Spa Motel, Monica Wyche, Rebecca Cortez, CMT, Artisans of the Southwest, Heidi Martinez, Astara Boutique, Colorado Cowgirl Enterprises, LLC, Cutter “Tim” Collins, Slices of Nature, Touchstone Gift Shop, Barbara Blackburn, and Cass Calley. Mardel Gallegos and Lynne Bridges would like to thank Pizza Hut, Riverpoint Café and The Springs for generously donating gift certificates to our parents who completed the Incredible Years parenting class. Thirteen parents completed the 12-week class. Thanks to them the “reward” was awesome!
Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County would like to thank the many friends who attended our Thank You Dinner to celebrate our 15th year in operation. We would like to thank and recognize the following businesses who sponsored and supported the event: Degelman’s Classic Catering, National Junior Honor Society, Old West Press, Pagosa Candy Company, Pagosa Lake Property Owners Association, Paint Connection, and Ponderosa Lumber. Finally, we would like to thank Joanne Irons who helped put on a fantastic event. We are grateful to all of supporters during our first 15 years, and we look forward to building houses and hope for another 15 more.
