No, we’re not flying your cousin Harvey in to tell some of his hilarious jokes.
However, we are planning to have some good ol’ family fun on April 18 at the Seeds of Learning “One Big Family” dinner and auction.
This adult event will include a silent auction of themed dinnerware, cash bar, delicious family style dinner and “Very Little Entertainment” by the Seeds’ kids.
This “Very Little Entertainment” requires the children to learn, which requires energy. This energy comes from one of the critical “Seeds’ Needs” — healthy, nutritious meals. Each day, each child enrolled at Seeds receives a hot breakfast, hot lunch and snack based on the Colorado Food Program Guidelines and the Food Pyramid. These well balanced meals cost $55,860 per year and must be paid for by generous donors and grants.
So, this year, in addition to bidding in the silent auction, guests will be given the opportunity to support “Meals for Munchkins” and directly help feed a child. Choose to pay for one child’s meals for one month, six months, an entire year, or any period that is best for you. Your dollars will have a direct impact on the life and education of a local child. The brain cannot concentrate when the tummy is hungry.
The doors at the community center will open at 5:30 p.m. for “One Big Family”. Individual tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, Switchback Mountain Wear and Seeds of Learning Early Care and Education Center.
Please join us for some familiar family fun and fund-raising for the children of Seeds.
