Swing through mud season

There is a hint of spring in the air and mud on your boots.

Let’s Dance Club invites you to join us for a bit of conditioning on the dance floor while you await the opportunities for outdoor exercise that abound when the mud dries. The club is continuing a series of free basic lessons on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.

In March, we continue with waltz on March 17 and nightclub two-step on March 31. After about 40 minutes of basic instruction for the dance of the week, a variety of dance music will be played. On Wednesday, March 25, there will be a dance where we will have a chance to practice a variety of ballroom and social dances.

For April through June, the dances will be rumba (April 7, May 5, and June 2), foxtrot (April 14, May 12, and June 9), and west coast swing (April 21 and 28, May 19 & 26, and June 16 and 23). Watch for information about upcoming workshops in April (bolero), May (to be announced) and June (west coast swing).

Thank you to the many dancers who have joined in and club members Jerry Granok, John and Teri Hoehn, Wayne Lauffer, Les Linton, Jennifer Matcham, David McGee, Dick and Gerry Potticary, and Aurora Wright for leading the current mix of lessons.

Dancers without partners are welcome. Shoes that have smooth or leather soles make dancing easier. Be sure to wipe off the mud before you get to the dance floor! Although donations are accepted, the Tuesday classes are free.

Lessons and waltz workshop are at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse at 230 Port Ave. For more information call Jennifer (731-3108), or Wayne (264-4792).
