Cards of Thanks

Special thanks to Enrique and Eric at Pedal and Powder for the time and effort they put into the Pagosa Springs Area Association of REALTORS® 2008 Bucks for Bikes campaign. Enrique’s knowledge and assistance with ordering the correct size and type of bicycle for each recipient and labeling the cartons for distribution was extremely helpful and commendable. We look forward to working with Pedal and Powder in the future.

Once again, our family is so grateful for the food and financial support and gifts from various organizations and people. Thank you, Archuleta County Sheriff’s Department for food and support and gifts this past Christmas. Thank you, Robert Santer, for the Christmas gifts for Oceana on Christmas day; she had a very bad start on Christmas day, took almost two hours for her to open her first gift. She was not in a good mood, but Oceana’s mood changed when we handed her a box of gifts from Robert Santer’s church. Thank you, Lorraine, for your continued support for Oceana. Many thanks to Mrs. Laguita Johnson for remembering Oceana, Christmas, Easter and her birthday and for the giant house. Thank you, doctors, nurses and all staff at Pagosa Mountain Hospital for your splendid care and love for Oceana. Tom and others in the lab, Oceana adores you, as does our family. And not to forget the fantastic EMS folks who continually take us to Durango and to the hospital and airport. Without the Children’s Hospital in Denver, and the care flight team and pilots, Oceana would not be here today. Thank you, Jackisch Drug and all the staff for your help.

A huge thank you to my supervisors at the jail who always manage to allow me time off to go to Denver. Without Lt. Martinez’s hard work and scheduling, I would be up a creek without a paddle. Captain Valdez always offers support in times of need. I thank the entire jail staff for taking up my slack when I am gone during times of emergencies. Let it be known to all, this sheriff’s department and jail staff support me and Oceana 200 percent, without fail, 24-7, without question, and wholeheartedly, God bless you all.

One last mention of Oceana: we will be at the Children’s Hospital in Denver for about five weeks, starting March 15, to complete a difficult part of Oceana’s chemotherapy. This will enable Oceana to be close to the hospital in case of seizures and other side effects. Log on to, look up Oceana 2008, for further updates.

God bless you all,

Mark and Joyce Norris
