Register now for Fire Ecology Institute for Educators

Registration is taking place now for a Fire Ecology Institute for educators (grades four-12) to be held at Fort Lewis College, June 8-12.

Specialists from the Colorado State Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service and National Park Service will share their expertise on fire ecology, fire behavior, fire history, mitigation and other relevant concepts.

Field trips to the Missionary Ridge burn area and Mesa Verde National Park, as well as other local public lands, will be central to the learning experiences. 

Registration for the week is only $50 and includes instruction, materials received, food and lodging at Fort Lewis College. Teachers may receive optional 2.5 graduate credits for attending the Institute.
