OSLS celebrates National Lutheran School Week

On Thursday, March 5, students at Our Savior Lutheran School hosted Marcia (Jarvis) Tinsley, widow of late astronaut Greg Jarvis. She gave a special film presentation on the space shuttle, put together by the astronauts themselves.

This is one of a number of activities scheduled for the school’s celebration of National Lutheran School Week.  Children had a theme each day, including Sports Day, Dress your Best Day, Western day and Spanish Heritage Day.

An open house for parents and children of prospective kindergarten students at Our Savior Lutheran School was held Wednesday, March 11, at the school at 56 Meadows Drive.  Parents took the student to the preschool to make a craft and play while parents visited the kindergarten room for a short presentation by the teacher, Mary Jo Janowsky, followed by a question-and-answer period.  Then the children met the teacher and visited the classroom, “The Land of the Letter People.”

Our Savior Lutheran preschool has begun registration for the school year 2009/2010.  The preschool accepts toilet trained children 3 years old and up.  Director Annette McInnis can be contacted at 731-3512.

Early pre-registration for Our Savior School, grades K-4 will be held March 2- 22.  Parents making an enrollment commitment during this period are eligible for a 10 percent rebate on their registration fee.
