Pagosa students compete at regional science fair

The regional science fair took place March 5 in Durango.  Pagosa Springs Junior High School had 12 participants.

Local award winners were:

• Angie Gallegos — LPEA Renewable Energy Award.

• Brannon Harbor — Honorable Mention, Engineering.

• Chase Purcell — Honorable Mention, Physics.

• Omar Ruiz — Honorable Mention, Physics.

• Keith Archuleta — Third place, Microbiology ($50).

• Kendra Schlom — First place, Earth and Space Science ($100).

 Other region participants were Zack Brown, Kevin Crow, Hannah Matzdorf, Heather Brooks, Tristen Bennett and Allie Denison.
