County accepts credit cards for tax payments

Citizens can now pay their property tax and personal property tax payments with a credit card, according to Archuleta County Treasurer Betty A. Diller.

Diller launched the new payment option Monday.

Diller said her office will accept, Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. There is a 2.5 percent convenience fee added to the transaction, but Diller said the credit card companies impose the fee, not the county.

While only one tax bill can be paid at a time, multiple transactions are allowed, enabling taxpayers to make all necessary payments.

Diller said the new service is available during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The service will also soon be available on the Web at
