The Springs Theatre Company’s 2009 season kicks off with the delightful romantic comedy, “Cookin’ With Gus!” Set in 1977 New York, this charming, family friendly, dinner theatre production dishes up laughs as audiences follow the antics of Gussie Richardson, a gourmet chef, as she prepares to film a pilot for a TV cooking show. Assisted by her fast talking agent Bernie, her gypsy neighbor Carmen, and lovable love interest Walter, will Gussie truly become the next Julia Child?
“Cookin’ With Gus!” will be presented at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse March 26, 27, and 28. A three-course dinner will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the show will follow at 7:30 p.m. The menu includes a mixed spring field green salad with feta cheese, mandarin oranges and a citrus vinaigrette dressing, fresh baked rolls and butter, apricot glazed chicken breast, red skinned garlic mashed potatoes, fresh green peas and carrots and a delightfully creamy slice of New York style cheesecake with an assortment of toppings for dessert. A variety of sodas, iced tea and coffee are also included and vegetarian options are available.
Admission is $30 per person and includes dinner, dessert, beverages and the show. Reserved seating tickets are on sale now at The Plaid Pony (731-5262), or online at www.SpringsTheatreCompany.org.
