Scott “Scooter” Smith will be teaching the third in a series of four master classes for Pagosa Springs High School’s Fine Arts Magnet Academy (FAMA).
Smith is a professional sound engineer from Durango, Colo. He works with local and regional groups to provide the highest quality sound production for professional musicians both in recording and in live performance. He has worked closely with the Four Corners Folk Festival as production manager for many years.
A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Smith is a knowledgeable ally to any musician. He has been working in the world of recording music and live concert producing for more than 20 years.
The workshop will cover the basics in sound engineering, from tuning a room to choosing the right microphone. The all day class will take students on a journey of experience, practice, and theoretical understanding of sound design for live music and theatre. If you’d like to learn more about sound design, you are welcome to attend for a $5.00 fee.
