The American Red Cross is offering these Health and Safety, and Disaster Services training classes during January at its Southwest Chapter office, 1911 Main Ave., Suite 282, Durango.
Today, Jan. 8 — Adult CPR/AED, 6-10 p.m. Cost is $50 and includes one-year certification.
Jan. 9-11 — Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) and Instructor Training 6-10 p.m. Friday, Jan.9, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Jan 10 and 11. Cost is $220 and certification lasts as long as you teach one class a year. The chapter has implemented a volunteer program for potential instructors — if you will agree to volunteer to teach a minimum of six classes during the year, the course fee will be waived.
Saturday, Jan. 10 — Adult CPR/AED and First Aid, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost is $60 and includes one- and three-year certifications, respectively.
Saturday, Jan. 17 — Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED, and Standard First Aid, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost is $70 and includes one- and three-year certifications, respectively.
Tuesday, Jan. 20 — First Aid, 6-10 p.m. Cost is $45 and includes three-year certification.
Thursday, Jan. 22 — Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED, 6-10 p.m. Cost is $65 and includes one-year certification.
You may challenge any Red Cross Health and Safety class. Cost is $35. You must pass the written exam and perform the skills without prompting or review. If you fail, you must complete the entire course in order to obtain certification.
