Masonic Lodge to hold open installation of officers

Pagosa Masonic Lodge No. 114 AF & AM of Colorado will hold an open installation of officers Saturday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m.  It will be held in the Lodge at 227 Lewis St. and is open to the public. A reception will follow the installation ceremony.

New officers for Pagosa Lodge No. 114 are Dale Schwicker, Worshipful Master; Tom Dittenber, Senior Warden; Mason Carpenter, Junior Warden; Bob Sprague, PM, Treasurer; Bill Hill, PM, Secretary; Jon Bower, Senior Deacon; Ollie Coward, Junior Deacon; Richard Wholf, Senior Steward; David Brunner, Junior Steward; Bob Case, PM, Chaplain; and Raymond Taylor, Tiler.  Leading the installation ceremony will be Arthur Lemon, PM, Durango Lodge No. 46, and Steve Jackson, PM, District Lecturer.  

The installation is being dedicated in memory of Dale Schwicker’s grandfather, Christian Schwicker, and his wife Betty’s father, James Coleman Grenier. Both are former masons. Special music is being provided by Bruce Kehret.

Pagosa’s Masonic Lodge No. 114 was established in 1902. Many prominent members of the community have served the lodge as worshipful master and in other capacities. Modern Freemasonry originated in 1717 in England, and 15 American presidents have been masons, among many other famous men around the world.
