Welcome the New Year with ‘For the SMALL of It’ at SHY RABBIT

SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts will remain open throughout the holiday weekend, providing the perfect opportunity to take in “For the SMALL of It” before it closes on Jan. 17.

This expansive exhibition continues to attract large numbers of local and out of town visitors, featuring nearly 100 finely crafted, original works of art by 15 local, regional and nationally recognized artists. “For the SMALL of It” is free and open to the public.

SHY RABBIT will be open Friday, Jan. 2, through Sunday, Jan. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment.

“For the SMALL of It” includes original sculptural and functional ceramics, paintings, limited edition woodcuts and etchings, monoprints, and photography.

Featured artists are: Randy Au, California; Michael D. Barnes, Illinois; Debra Blair, New Mexico; Marti Bledsoe, Texas; Denise Coffee, Colorado; D. Michael Coffee, Colorado; Sarah Comerford, Colorado; Ron Fundingsland, Colorado; Jean Gumpper, Colorado; Karl Isberg, Colorado; Shaun Martin, Colorado; Al Olson, Colorado; Brad Schwieger, Ohio; Christopher St. John, New Mexico; and Jill Sykes, California.

SHY RABBIT’s 2009 exhibition schedule will kick off with “Portraits,” March 14–April 18. This invitational portraiture exhibition will feature works in varying media by select local, regional and nationally recognized artists.

A number of introductory WORK-shops @ SHY RABBIT are also being offered in 2009 for those looking to expand upon their skills and/or to learn new ones. Workshops are instructed by professional artist D. Michael Coffee, and include Basic Ceramic Techniques & Hand-building I, Ceramics from the Potter’s Wheel I and Printmaking without a Press I.
