ALMA presents American roots music

Soaring gypsy violin, a little ukulele and the thump of an old-time bass bounce around with a jazz accordion and creative percussion to create a new sound when the Alamosa Live Music Association (ALMA) presents Boulder Acoustic Society Saturday at 8 p.m. at the San Luis Valley Pizza Co., in the SLV Probowl building at Victoria Ave. and 1st Street in Alamosa.

Each member of Boulder Acoustic Society comes from a different musical world and the resulting mix is what makes their music so special. It is American roots music with the edge of punk rock and the grace of chamber music.

Boulder Acoustic Society has crisscrossed the country many times building a following the old fashioned way: by making connections with fans one at a time. From festivals to rock clubs, dive bars to house concerts, BAS has spread the word. at defies description.

Tickets are $12 for the general public, $5 for students and seniors 62 or older, available at the door.
