Rounding out the inaugural season, The Springs Theatre Company presents a delightful trip to a bygone era Christmas weekend with “Santa Sock Hop.” Harken back to 1958, a simpler time when the record player scratched out such tunes as “Santa Baby” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and an erector set was on everyone’s wish list.
Guests will see the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse transformed into a ’50s style diner serving traditional fare such as hamburgers, hot dogs and fresh french fries along with floats and sodas. On the “bandstand” a rockin’ DJ will be spinning the biggest hits of the decade on the wurlitzer jukebox as the crowd dances the twist, the mashed potato, the jitterbug and more. Join in the fun during the hula-hoop contest, the bubblegum blowing contest, the costume contest and the candy cane limbo contest.
This family-friendly event for all ages will take place Friday, Dec. 26, and Saturday, Dec. 27, beginning at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Period costumes are encouraged and the Costume Pit Stop will be offering discounts to anyone who rents and mentions this event.
Admission is $20for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and includes dinner, dessert, beverages, favors and great music. Tickets are on sale now at The Plaid Pony (731-5262) or online at www.SpringsTheatreCompany.org.
