San Juan Basin Technical College (Montezuma County) and Pueblo Community College Southwest Campus (Durango) will host a community meeting Friday, Nov. 14, at the Pagosa Springs Community Center to discuss the proposed merger of the two entities into one, regional community college.
The meeting at the community center is set for 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
A merger steering committee and officials from both institutions are seeking information from all communities in Region 9 concerning opinions about the proposed merger and what residents in the region would like to see offered at a new, regional community college.
Shannon South, president of San Juan Basin Technical College, and John Garvin, president of Pueblo Community College, will be available at the meeting to answer questions. Also expected to attend are Sen. Jim Isgar and Rep. Ellen Roberts.
