Pat Jeffers to conduct summer basket weaving workshop

Pat Jeffers, master weaver and artist will offer a weaving workshop in Pagosa Springs at the community center next summer.

The workshop provides participants the opportunity to create up to three baskets and is appropriate for everyone from beginners to advanced weavers.

Jeffers is a challenging and fun instructor and you will learn and create amazing rattan baskets. She has not decided what she will focus on, but her previous projects have included wall hangings, large utility baskets, unique shapes and other gorgeous ideas. Beginners will make a practice basket, tool pot and antler basket.

The workshop will be held 6:30-9 p.m. June 21; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 22, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., June 23; and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. June 24. Jeffers also makes time for extra weaving from 7-9 p.m.

Cost is $400 per person and includes all the reed and weaving materials to create three small projects as a beginner, or one large project for more advanced students. This is an incredible bargain and participants take home their own gorgeous work of art.
