Fire managers will conduct a prescribed burn today, Oct. 30, in the lower Middle Mountain area, 12 miles west-northwest of Pagosa Springs.
The intent is to burn 125 acres today and, conditions allowing, to continue burning for the next few days.
The entire burn is within the San Juan National Forest.
Yesterday, fire fighters completed the 140-acre prescribed burn on Vigil Abeyta, 25 miles south of Pagosa Springs. The burn continues to be monitored. Smoke may continue to be visible for a few days in the area.
