The Archuleta County Sheriff’s Department will kick off its inaugural “Thanks For Giving” food drive Nov. 8, with drop-off stations positioned at various locations throughout Pagosa Springs.
Corp. Lezlie White of the sheriff’s department, one of the chief organizers of the event said, “The whole department wants to reach out to those in need. We want to give back to them with help from the community.”
White said the focus of the drive is to provide Thanksgiving food for at least five to six families, although White said the number of families served will ultimately be determined by the amount of donations collected.
White said the sheriff’s department hasn’t chosen the families yet.
