Scouts peddle popcorn for a good cause

Members of Cub Scout Pack 807 and Boy Scout Troop 807 have started their annual popcorn sales fund-raiser.

Each scout is responsible, along with his family, for raising money for the pack. This annual fund-raiser provides the budget for the year’s activities. It pays for the supplies, badges, awards, necessary equipment, scholarships for needy scouting families and at least 50 percent of the fees for any scout to attend summer camp or day camp.

The popcorn products are available from any Cub Scout or Boy Scout until Nov. 15. The scouts have the products in hand, so it is a cash-and-carry fund-raiser. Products range in price from $8 to $50 and include a variety of microwave popcorns, along with different types of popcorn covered in chocolate, cheese or mixed with nuts, presented in reusable decorative tins of several sizes.

A scout might visit your home or business. You might see scouts selling the product in front of several stores or at the Civic Club Bazaar on Nov. 15.

Our mission is to provide a means of raising money for Cub Scout Pack 807 and Boy Scout Troop 807 with which the pack can establish and expand its programs and give boys the best scouting experience possible. Community assistance and support through purchasing popcorn is greatly appreciated.
