Habitat for Humanity birdhouses are coming back

“How can I get one of those beautifully painted birdhouses?”

Many people have asked me that question since our silent auction and fund-raiser in September.

The silent auction was a huge success and we raised over $1,000 for Habitat for Humanity. Due to the popularity of the birdhouses, we are bringing them back, just in time for the holidays.

Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County has commissioned artist Sabine Baeckmann and her students to produce custom-made birdhouses in time for gift giving this coming holiday season.

Orders must be made with Habitat for Humanity by Dec. 10, at the latest.

You might have a special theme you would like on your birdhouse, or even have it decorated to match your home. Or, you can use it as a special decoration during the holidays with a theme to match the spirit of the season.

On the other hand, you can be totally adventurous and let us surprise you.

The average cost of each custom-made birdhouse is $50. Call Cindi Galabota at 264-6960 to place your order. This is a great way to get some of your holiday shopping done and also support a great cause at the same time.

Whether you’re gearing up for spring, have a special theme in mind, or want to get into the holiday spirit, contact Habitat for Humanity to order your custom-made birdhouses now. Before they are all gone — again!
