The Pagosa Artisans’ Co-op is sponsoring an after-school program for young photographers.
Wendy Saunders, photojournalist, will be instructing this photography session for the youngsters.
Friday sessions (2-5 p.m.) will provide a unique opportunity for youth to work with a professional.
Intense three-hour sessions occur after school each Friday and include instruction and photographing with color, sepia and black and white photography. Students will experience actual location shoots, process black and white film, and explore photograph presentation through matting and framing of photographs, producing cards, and T-shirts. Students will also conduct a gallery show of their photographs.
Any school age youth is invited to attend, no prior photography experience is necessary. Saunders has a wide selection of cameras, and provides cameral rental to students who do not have a camera — allowing anyone the opportunity to experience photography. With the popularity of digital cameras in the consumer market, students are able to experience “pure photography,” first hand.
Sessions are $25, plus supplies. Contact Wen Saunders 264-4486 or visit www.wendysaunders.com for more information.
