Pagosa resident dies in one-vehicle crash

A single vehicle crash south of Pagosa Springs at approximately 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, resulted in the death of a local resident and the injury of a passenger in his vehicle.

Carlos Trujillo, 77, of Pagosa Springs, died as a result of injuries suffered in the one-vehicle accident. His wife, Clorinda, was hurt in the crash and transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, according to a report by the Colorado State Patrol.

That report indicates the 1995 Toyota pickup driven by Trujillo was northbound on U.S. 84 at milepost 24 south of Pagosa Springs.
