Lifelong Learning lecture investigates China’s emerging economic power

Have you heard about China’s astonishing economic growth in the past two decades?

Just how deep is that country’s economic power?

China’s economic power is much greater than the trade statistics show and has considerable impact on the world economy.

Find out more at the Sisson Library on Oct. 18 when the Pagosa Springs Lifelong Learning series hosts Ali Sabeti, professional associate with Fort Lewis College, and his presentation “China: How Does China’s Emerging Economic Power Impact the World Economy?”

Sabeti retired as a member of senior staff from the World Bank Group after a career of 25 years in international economic and social development, including over twenty years in China. A Durango resident for 10 years, Ali is active as a volunteer with various organizations and Fort Lewis College.

Then, look ahead to an experiential lecture slated for Oct. 25 entitled “Tapping Your Potential: Talents to Strengths to Success.”

Here’s a way to keep your mind agile and your life interesting — at no cost.

The public is welcome to attend these free lectures at the Sisson Library, located at the corner of U.S. 160 and South 8th Street. Starting time is 3 p.m., sharp.
