Frivolity and fabulous fashions

The 12th annual Festival of Fashions being held Saturday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. promises to be filled with fun, frivolity and fabulous fashions.

This year, the show is returning to the smaller, more intimate venue of the Parish Hall.

Maria MacNamee, owner of Happy Trails Ladies Boutique located in historic downtown Pagosa Springs, is the exclusive sponsor of the event. Fourteen years ago, Maria came to Pagosa Springs after taking early retirement from the Marine Corps where she had been a computer analyst. She started her second career when she became the owner of a specialty clothing store. The boutique has been in business for more than 16 years and has been a major contributor to the IHM’s annual Style Show for the last 11 years.

Ten ladies from our community will model many different Happy Trails fashions from casual to “dress up.” Some of the brands include Tribal, Double D Ranchwear, Sympli and Berek. Of course you can always count on Maria to “bling you up” for the holidays.

The luncheon will feature wonderful food from Victoria’s Parlor. Pat Kahn has owned and operated Victoria’s Parlor since 2000. She, her husband, Gordon, and youngest son, Brett, moved here 13 years ago with semi-retirement in mind, but instead opened a business, Victoria’s Reign. A few years later, they added the restaurant, Victoria’s Parlor. She and her staff are planning beautiful, festive fare for this ladies’ day out.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at Happy Trails downtown or Switchback Mountain Wear in the Pagosa Country Center.

Runway tables with reserved seats are still available. Call Maria at 264-4260 for information.

All funds raised from the event will be donated to help outfit the new Parish Hall. Seating is limited and tickets will not be available at the door. Get your ticket today, and don’t miss this chance to indulge your passion for fashion.
