Local Scouts assist Operation Christmas Child

On Monday, Sept. 22, Boy Scout Leader Al Wylie, his scouts and parents from Troop 807, all joined in the fun at the Community United Methodist Church, covering empty shoe boxes with Christmas wrap in preparation of this year’s Operation Christmas Child program in Pagosa.

These boxes will later be filled with gifts of love that will be sent to boys and girls around the world who are less fortunate than many of us in Pagosa. We invite you and your family, church or club group to join us in this unique mission project with your gifts of love box dedicated to a boy or to a girl who are 2 years to 14 years of age.

As in the past, Troop 807 scouts will continue their annual service contribution by volunteering at the Harvest of Love for the Children fun activity, Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Power House from 5-7 p.m. On this evening, approximately 200 Christmas boxes will be filled with love gifts by Pagosa children and the scouts for an overseas Operation Christmas Child.
