The Pagosa Pathfinders invite the community to the group’s first annual Shot Gun Shoot.
The shoot will take place at 10 a.m. Oct. 4, at the Laverty Ranch, on U.S. 160, one mile east of U.S. 84.
The Pagosa Pathfinders are a nonprofit youth group. They participate in the Youth Hunter Education Challenge, an NRA education branch.
The Pathfinders learn Orienteering, Hunter Safety, Wildlife ID, Muzzle Loading, Rifle and Shot Gun skills. This program is open to all children ages 8 to 18.
Since the Pagosa Pathfinders’ inception, the kids have participated in numerous competitions at regional, state and national levels. They have won awards in all disciplines and at all competitions.
The Pathfinders have received generous grants from the Friends of the NRA, which have enabled the organization to purchase targets for muzzle loaders, rifle and 3D targets for archery. The Pathfinders have also been able to purchase a shot gun trailer and throwers
The Pathfinders will furnish the clays for the Oct. 4 community shoot.
Cost for a 100-roind shoot is $25, ammo not included. Please bring your own ammo.
