Not entirely completed, the Lewis Street project is down to the details.
Those details — stamped concrete crosswalks at the 5th Street intersection and mid-way on Lewis Street, tree planting, and electrical work for lamp posts, all await the completion of work on the intersections of Lewis, 5th, and U.S. 160.
According to Torry Hessman, town construction manager, “Forms are up and we’re ready to pour the concrete.”
Hessman added that, after the concrete is poured, it will require a six-day curing period in order for it to hold up to traffic. The intersection will be entirely composed of concrete, no asphalt will be used.
Correcting last week’s article in the SUN, work on the intersection will be limited to the intersection and not the entire length of North 5th Street. We regret any inconvenience this error may have caused.
