Julie Dockery and Raymond Taylor

Julie Dockery and Raymond Taylor were married May 31, 2008, at the Taylor Ranch, with family and friends celebrating in their marriage. The Rev. Don Strait officiated the ceremony and Bob Goodman presented the bride. Julie is the daughter of Temple Dockery of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, and the late Gary Dockery. Her cousins are Bob and Valerie, Jordan and Hayley Goodman. Raymond is the son of John and Jean Taylor; his grandmother is Genelle Macht. The couple went to Kauai on their honeymoon. The couple will continue living in Pagosa Springs with Julie working as a vet tech at San Juan Veterinary Hospital and Raymond working at Pagosa Springs Elementary School.

Henry and Catherine (Ford) Cundiff

Henry and Catherine (Ford) Cundiff, of Bayfield, will be honored Saturday, July 19, with an open house celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Friends and family are invited to attend a casual reception from 4-7 p.m. at the Cundiff-Foster Homestead at 6071 County Road 502 in Bayfield. Their four children (Penny and Ed Harris of Georgetown, Texas, Monty and Melannie Cundiff of Ignacio, Nina and Rick Martinez of Grand Junction, and Lisa and Mark Tarrant of Chicopee, Mass.) will be hosting the event.

This is a wonderful occasion to celebrate their love, friendship and devotion. Henry and Catherine were married July 24, 1958, in Durango and, after living in Texas for 15 years, have recently returned to Bayfield. The family respectfully requests that your presence serve as their present.

Stephanie Savoy and Westin Carey

Chris and Connie Savoy of Pagosa Springs are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Savoy, to Westin Carey.  Westin is the son of Brad and Faith Carey of Allison, Colo.  Stephanie is a 2008 graduate of Pagosa Springs High School and will be attending Pueblo Community College in the fall.  Westin is a 2007 graduate of Pagosa Springs High School and is a sophomore at Pueblo Community College.  A summer wedding in Pagosa Springs is planned, followed by a honeymoon in Cancun.  Congratulations and God’s blessings Stephanie and Westin.

Aliya Haykus

On May 24, 2008, Aliya Haykus, formerly of Pagosa Springs, graduated with honors from Verde Valley School in Sedona, Ariz. Haykus was a class co-president and served on the student council. She was a peer tutor in English and volunteered as a mentor in Big Park Elementary School. At Verde Valley School, she discovered her love for photography and won awards at the Northern Arizona Student Art Exhibit and the Prescott Fine Arts Show, as well as from Verde Valley School. She is currently enrolled at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif., pursuing a career in commercial photography.
