Dale R. Grover

On Jan. 17, 2008, Dale R. Grover, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., passed away.  Along with his family and friends, he leaves behind a strong love of music. So, the next time you hear “Free Bird,” think of Dale and know that if he could, he’d be right there rocking with you!

In accordance with his wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. Those who would like to celebrate Dale’s life are invited to his birthday party at the Buffalo Inn in Pagosa Springs, Saturday, March 29, 2008.

Flora Marquez Barbo

Flora Barbo passed away at her home in California, Dec. 26, 2007. A celebration of her life will be held one month to her day of passing, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Flora will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched, because we were all greatly blessed with Flora’s love, wit, compassion and love for life.

Kailey Marie Smith, and Kyle James

Chris and Michele Smith and Curt and Lynell Wiggers, both of Pagosa Springs, are as happy as can be about the engagement of their daughter, Kailey Marie Smith, and son, Kyle James Wiggers. The wedding is set for Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Winslow on the Shire in Pagosa Springs (formerly Echo Manor Inn).
After the wedding, Kailey will continue taking classes and completing a photography internship in Colorado Springs, where Kyle has been working as a machinist.

Destiny Carol Marie Brueckner and Michael Nahim Abraham

Darrell and Karie Brueckner, of Pagosa Springs, and Mick and Becky Abraham, also of Pagosa Springs, announce the marriage of their children, Destiny Carol Marie Brueckner and Michael Nahim Abraham — the wedding to take place Saturday, Jan. 26, at Centerpoint Church.


Alex Sharp

Alex Sharp, son of Doug and Jamie Sharp, from Pagosa Springs, has been named to the academic honor roll for bloc one of the current school year at Colorado Timberline Academy. The honor roll distinction specifies that a student must have a 3.0 grade point average with nothing below a B for an academic bloc, a period of four or five weeks. There are seven blocs in the school year.

Colorado Timberline Academy is a private co-educational boarding school in Durango, Colo., which is located in the San Juan mountain range of the Rocky Mountains. CTA is a small college-oriented educational community known for its emphasis on outdoor education.
